7 Retaining Walls were constructed along Tauwharaparae Road as an effort to make the road safer and more stable following the flooding that hit the region in 2018. 

Puhi Kai Iti - Cook Landing Site

The sculpture at Puhi Kai Iti, Te Ikaroa, represents and acknowledges the regions voyaging traditions. Te Ikaroa a Rauru was the waka captained by Maia Poroaki from Hawaiki to Turanganui-a-Kiwa.

Port Road Upgrade

Downer - Provincial Growth Fund

The Port Road Upgrade was part of PGF roading package, with the intent placed on improved road layout, lighting and parking for those visiting Kaiti Hill and Puhi Kai Iti (Cook Landing Site)

The Te Maro Sculpture represents Te Maro, his tipuna and significant gardener of the mana whenua. Weighing over 9 tonnes, Te Maro is visible from around Tairāwhiti.

The Gisborne Inner Harbour Amenity Building was built to provide convenient amenities to tourists in the region, particularly coming in from visiting Cruise Ships.

Te Pourewa Beacon of Light

Te Aitanga-a-Hauiti and Uawa Community 

Te Pourewa Beacon of Light celebrates Tahitian navigator and priest Tupaia who landed at Opoutama (Cook's  Cove) aboard the Endeavour in 1769. 

Our Civil team is led by Sam (Director) and Craig (Civil Contracts Manager), and with their leadership the division has been able to grow and become a tier 1 civil contractor within the region. We  work across a diverse range of projects, ranging from footpaths to retaining walls to monument restoration. 

  • Bridge work including small bridge construction, refurbishment, abutment remedial works 

  • Drilling work: tieback anchors, weep hole, piling 

  • Large diversity of roading work including shoulder widening, kerb and channel, trenching, and asphalt repairs 

  • Concrete pumping, drilling and cutting and shot-creting; 

  • Slip repairs

  • Culvert installation  

  • Retaining walls 

  • Large scale public landscaping 

  • Work across public spaces including earth works, structural concrete, drainage, installation, restoration and construction of architectural features and public monuments.
